As a Cloud Operations Engineer at ORTEC, one of your main goals is to get and keep our cloud solutions (services and applications) up-and-running. You work with one or more product development teams and are supported by the Cloud Operations Support team. Within our department we have a range of workforce scheduling products which are used in a variety of industries.

As an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer, you are involved in topics like security, availability, performance, efficiency, change management, (cost) monitoring, emergency response and capacity planning for one or more cloud-native solutions (Azure). You continuously improve the infrastructure for better scalability, security and fault tolerance. To do this you create pipelines and scripts for deployment, monitoring, and application management. You also enable rapid deployment of new features with the necessary safeguards to maintain stability, high availability, and performance together with your colleagues.

Functie eisen

  • You embrace the DevOps culture and automating is your second nature
  • Having experience with the following technologies is a pre:
  • Containerization (e.g. Kubernetes)
  • Programming or scripting (e.g. PowerShell)
  • Microsoft Azure and are familiar with Microsoft tooling (.NET)
  • Continuous integration and continuous delivery practices using Jenkins and/o
  • Azure DevOps including ARM templating
  • Involving others, but working independently is your style
  • Taking ownership is important to you: you are a problem solver and you feel responsible
  • You are curious, creative and enthusiastic about sharing your ideas and know-how
  • Being conscientious and staying abreast of new developments is your cup of tea
  • You have an IT-related Bachelor degree
  • Willingness to take part in on-call duties to support our customers 24/7 (approx. 8 weeks per year with compensation).

As a Cloud Operations Engineer you will work closely together with our Cloud Reliability Engineers, other Cloud Operations Engineers and Software Engineers of the DevOps teams that are working on the cloud solutions you are responsible for. Currently we are scaling up with respect to our cloud offering to our customers which will give you the opportunity to explore, learn and grow.
